Doctors - Whom Should You Trust?
When you or a loved one becomes ill, it is usual to turn to the family doctor or specialist for advice. But if the recommended handling for the illness gives you concern or just doesn’t make sense to you, what should you do?
You should find another health professional that will direct you to a course of action (who will explain it in a way that you can fully understand) that makes complete sense to you.
Remember, if a person cannot explain something to you in a way that you can understand and that makes sense to you, that person really doesn’t understand it himself or herself.
But how can it be that doctors will direct patients to do something that that they themselves do not really fully understand, or is not in the best interest of the patient?
We hear how this can come about from one of the most highly regarded doctors in the medical profession today, from an article entitled:
Conformity* of Thought Among Doctors
[*Definition - Conform: bring into agreement; make similar.]
"More than any other profession, medicine develops, even demands, conformity among its practitioners. The concept of 'accepted practices' carries considerable weight in the medical profession."
"For the young physician, the pressures of conformity start in medical school and are intensified in the training programs that follow."
"The amount of material that a medical student or a training physician is expected to learn and understand, in addition to the time that he or she must spend caring for patients, is so large, that little time can be spent asking whether what is being taught is the best approach to a particular problem."
"Since there is general conformity of medical practices and education across the country, there is little reason for the physician in training to have any doubts that he or she is learning the superior, if not the only, method of treating our common diseases."
"After completion of medical training, conformity is necessary to receive hospital privileges and to acquire patients by referral from other doctors. The fear of disapproval from other physicians may sometimes be greater than the desire to do what seems best for the patient."
"This fear is justified, for nonconforming physicians can be stripped of their ability to practice medicine regardless of the benefit their patients may be receiving from their particular approach."
"Therefore, conforming to today's accepted practices ensures a degree of safety for the physician. Regardless of the outcome of a therapy, good or bad, physicians are above blame if they have complied with the currently accepted approaches."
"They can take comfort knowing that they did 'what was considered best.' This of course could be true, but what was thought best at any time in history is only just that - what was thought best at that time."
"It bears repeating: The history of medicine, even to the present day, is as much a sequence of failures abandoned as well as successes built upon. Yet each 'abandoned failure' was strongly believed in and practiced in its day."
"Even modern medicine is constantly cleaning house. It is estimated that 50 percent of all accepted medical practices are abandoned or replaced by safer or more effective ones every 20 years!"
"Until then, whatever is the 'accepted practice' of the day will be dispensed [Definition: provide to a number of people.] with enthusiasm and confidence by most physicians."
"It is not hard to see, therefore, how something as simple as looking to diet and exercise as the first-line, even superior, therapy for the diabetic could be ignored, even belittled, given the present enthusiasm for drugs and technology that is brought about by medical training and continued by the forces of professional conformity."

Always be willing to ask questions and demand answers, and demand that the answers make sense to you. If your doctor can't explain what you want to know, or "does not have the time", then it's time for you to find another doctor who will and can. Do not allow yourself to settle for second-class service or a second-class doctor.
Are You Getting Enough Vitamin C to Protect Your Body from Illness and Disease?
One of the most important substances in the achievement and preservation of optimum health, as well as the prevention and treatment of disease, is vitamin C.
To appreciate why an optimum daily intake of this nutrient is so essential in the battle against infectious disease and well-being in general, we must remember that our bodies do not make vitamin C.
The question becomes what amount of vitamin C is needed to put a person in the best of health and give them the immune protection against infectious diseases of all kinds, as well as the various degenerative diseases that are now so common.
To help you understand the truth of "what amount," here is what experts in the field of nutrition have to say:
Eight double blind studies have been done using between 200 mg/day and 2,000 mgs/day, which have shown an average 44% reduction in illness, thus the RDA recommendation of 45 mg of vitamin C is far too low to provide the protection needed today."In order to answer this, we must first understand the concept of Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) as formulated by the Food and Nutrition Board.
"Most people interpret RDA for any particular nutrient (in this case vitamin C) as being that specific dosage that leads to the best health for all people. That is, ‘if I take the RDA of vitamin C every day of my life, I will more than likely achieve the best health that can possibly be gained by the intake of this nutrient.’
"This interpretation is quite false!
"The RDA is only the estimated amount that, for most people, will prevent scurvy or death caused by vitamin C deficiency.
"The board's recommendations were adopted to indicate to the general American public the amount of vitamin C needed [45 mg] in order to avoid scurvy.
"The problem with the board’s recommendations is that the medical profession took hold of them and created a misconception generally accepted by many physicians. This being:
"If there are no signs or symptoms of scurvy, we must assume that there is no deficiency of vitamin C. Therefore no need to take supplements of this vitamin.
"But scurvy is not just a symptom of lack [of vitamin C], but a final collapse, leading to death, via a breakdown and disintegration of our bodies.
"There is a large area, including colds, infections, flu and degenerative diseases that exists between the total blackness of scurvy and death, and the pure white of optimum health and resistance to disease."No longer can we be satisfied with the misconception that if we do not have scurvy, we do not need any additional amounts of vitamin C in order to achieve optimum health and resistance to disease."

Low-Carb Diets Work for
Overweight Diabetics
Overweight people with type 2 diabetes can keep their weight and blood sugar under control over the long term by following a low-carbohydrate diet, Swedish researchers reported in the journal Nutrition and Metabolism.
In a recent 44 month study (3 years, 8 months)
carried out in Sweden, type 2 diabetics were found to be able keep their
weight and blood sugar under control by following a low-carbohydrate
diet.
The participants in the study limited their carbohydrate intake and
reported that the most significant effect of this low-carb diet is the
absence of hunger.
By avoiding starch-rich bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, and breakfast cereals, it minimized the glucose spikes that made it necessary for people with diabetes to take insulin, researchers said.
Of the patients in the trial, all but one had lower weight after the 44 months than when first starting the diet. Furthermore, glucose levels dropped soon after starting the diet and have stayed down over the 44 month period.
A low-carb diet, proper nutrition and adding even a small amount of exercise will directly address and improve your diabetic condition.Recent tests show that Male fish exhibiting female traits due to toxic chemicals and pharma runoff

"I woke up one morning with pain in my right wrist. I couldn't push down on my wrist in any manner, nor could I flex it without pain. At work I experienced pain typing and the next day it got worse with shooting pain up my arm to my elbow. I was starting to think I must have carpal tunnel, but wasn't sure. I bought a bottle of Joint Support Formula and in a week the pain was gone and my wrist was back to normal and totally fine.
"What a great product and what a relief!"
