Mills Gets a Taste of Backlash after it Spent Over 1.2 Million to defeat
GMO Labeling Initiative
General
Mills, which donated more than $1.1 million to the 'No on Prop. 37'
campaign to defeat the GE labeling law, recently got a taste of the
backlash from their subversive tactics
Just
one day after General Mills’ Cheerios brand released a Facebook app
allowing “fans” to “show what Cheerios mean to them,” the app
was abruptly pulled due to thousands of angry consumers using it to
create anti-GMO statements and lashing out against the company’s
treachery
Two
of the first three ingredients in Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios are
corn starch and sugar—two ingredients that might be genetically
engineered (a majority of corn-based ingredients and sugar from sugar
beets on the US market is now GE)
The
fact that General Mills would rather pay millions to hide that their
products contain GE ingredients rather than give you the choice to buy
something else, or reformulate their product without GE ingredients is
quite telling. And fortunately, people are now starting to see through
these shady tactics where actions do not match the words
Washington
state and Vermont are now working on people’s initiatives to get GE
labeling laws passed in 2013

Are
You Getting the Informatio
n You Need from Your Doctor?
When you or a loved one becomes ill, it is usual to turn to the
family doctor or specialist for advice. But if the recommended solution
for the illness gives you concern or just doesn't make sense to you,
what should you do?
You should find another health professional that will direct you to a
course of action (who will explain it in a way that you can fully
understand) that makes complete sense to you.
Remember, if a person cannot explain something to you in a way that you
can understand and that makes sense to you, that person really doesn't
understand it himself or herself.
But how can it be that doctors will direct patients to do something that
that they themselves do not really fully understand, or is not in the
best interest of the patient?
We hear how this can come about from one of the most highly regarded
doctors in the medical profession today, from an article entitled:
Conformity* of Thought Among Doctors
[*Definition - Conform: bring into agreement; make similar.]
"More than any other profession, medicine develops, even demands,
conformity among its practitioners. The concept of 'accepted practices'
carries considerable weight in the medical profession."
"For the young physician, the pressures of conformity start in
medical school and are intensified in the training programs that
follow."
"The amount of material that a medical student or a training
physician is expected to learn and understand, in addition to the time
that he or she must spend caring for patients, is so large, that little
time can be spent asking whether what is being taught is the best
approach to a particular problem."
"Since there is general conformity of medical practices and
education across the country, there is little reason for the physician
in training to have any doubts that he or she is learning the superior,
if not the only, method of treating our common diseases."
"After completion of medical training, conformity is necessary to
receive hospital privileges and to acquire patients by referral from
other doctors. The fear of disapproval from other physicians may
sometimes be greater than the desire to do what seems best for the
patient."
"This fear is justified, for nonconforming physicians can be
stripped of their ability to practice medicine regardless of the benefit
their patients may be receiving from their particular approach."
"Therefore, conforming to today's accepted practices ensures a
degree of safety for the physician. Regardless of the outcome of a
therapy, good or bad, physicians are above blame if they have complied
with the currently accepted approaches."
"They can take comfort knowing that they did 'what was considered
best.' This of course could be true, but what was thought best at any
time in history is only just that - what was thought best at that
time."
"It bears repeating: The history of medicine, even to the present
day, is as much a sequence of failures abandoned as well as successes
built upon. Yet each 'abandoned failure' was strongly believed in and
practiced in its day."
"Even modern medicine is constantly cleaning house. It is estimated
that 50 percent of all accepted medical practices are abandoned or
replaced by safer or more effective ones every 20 years!"
"Until then, whatever is the 'accepted practice' of the day will be
dispensed [Definition: provide to a number of people.] with enthusiasm
and confidence by most physicians."
"It is not hard to see, therefore, how something as simple as
looking to diet and exercise as the first-line, even superior, therapy
for the diabetic could be ignored, even belittled, given the present
enthusiasm for drugs and technology that is brought about by medical
training and continued by the forces of professional conformity."
excerpted from Reversing Diabetes
by Julian M. Whitaker, M.D.
Always be willing to ask questions and demand answers, and demand that
the answers make sense to you. If your doctor can't explain what you
want to know, or "does not have the time", then it's time for
you to find another doctor who will and can. Do not allow yourself to
settle for second-class service or a second-class doctor.

Can
Your Body Control Your Emotions?
It
is well understood that mental and physical travail can lead to
emotional difficulties. It is not as well understood that poor physical
health can lead to emotional trouble. Conversely, good physical health
leads toward positive emotional states and may even magnify the
intensity of the desirable emotional states. This body-emotion
connection is known as the Somato-Limbic Relationship.
There is no question that drug companies have attempted to correct
emotional troubles using drugs with the idea in mind that emotions are
affected by physical states. Unfortunately, the drug results are very
often erratic and even horrible. A few multinational drug corporations
have ceased producing such emotion affecting also known as 'mind
altering' drugs as law suits based on drug side effects were making
their activities unprofitable.
Getting the body to close to ideal health through nutrition and other
genuine approaches can do wonders though orthodox health care does not
like to acknowledge these approaches as effective. Excellent emotional
health is built through excellent physical health.
Poor health of organs or glands can be associated with certain emotional
traits. Let's take the liver as a prime example. Poor liver health is
associated with frustration and in a more severe form anger. If you are
overly frustrated or overly angry in your dealings with life and you do
not know why perhaps your liver could use some assistance. On the other
hand, a healthy liver makes it much easier to be passionate about one's
interests.
Look at a teenager on the SAD (Standard American Diet) pun intended who
begins puberty. The liver is already under stress from the diet as well
as environmental toxins and now the hormonal changes begin. The sex
hormones being produced add another stress to liver function as the
liver breaks down these hormones as part of the end cycle of metabolism.
Further the adrenal cortex produced stress hormones tend to be brought
into play as puberty itself is stressful. The liver gets to detoxify
these as well. Poor liver health could easily be part of the troubles we
see teenagers experience.
Numerous
other unwanted emotional states can appear to lesser or greater degree
associated with ill health in particular organs. Guess which organ when
unhealthy is associated with low self esteem?

A
Major Threat to Public Health
Antibiotic-resistant
disease is a major threat to public health, and the primary cause for
this man-made epidemic is the widespread misuse of antibiotics—both in
medicine and agriculture
Recent
research shows children whose mothers took antibiotics during their
pregnancy were more likely to develop asthma. Children predisposed to
asthma were twice as likely to develop asthma if their mother used
antibiotics during the third trimester, compared to those whose mother
did not use antibiotics
A
baby gets his or her first "inoculation" of gut flora from the
mother’s birth canal during childbirth, which is why a mother’s use
of antibiotics during pregnancy may predispose the child to asthma and a
variety of other ailments, including neurological dysfunction and
autoimmune disorders
One
chicken farmer has demonstrated that even large-scale animal farming can
manage without routine administration of antibiotic drugs by using an
herbal remedy of oregano oil and cinnamon instead
You
can help yourself and your community by using antibiotics only when
absolutely necessary and by purchasing organic, antibiotic-free meats
and other foods. Natural compounds with antibiotic/antiviral activity
include oil of oregano, garlic, and Echinacea, which you can try before
resorting to drugs

Vitamin
C and Your Nerves
Sorbitol
(a form of sugar) travels to certain parts of the body where it builds
up. These parts of the body are the lens of the eye where it forms a
white milky film called cataracts, and the sciatic nerve (the big nerve
that runs down your leg) where it causes nerve damage (nerve pain).
Studies
have shown that taking 2,000 mg a day of vitamin C reduces the
production of sorbitol and strips sorbitol out of the body.
The
only way you can acquire the vitamin C you need is through your diet
and/or supplementation.
Most
of the "vitamin C" sold in the US is ascorbic acid. This is a
man-made chemical found nowhere in nature.
There
is a huge difference between WSN Vitamin C and ascorbic acid. The more
ascorbic acid you take, the less your body absorbs.
In
contrast, WSN Vitamin C containing 100 percent Foodform Vitamin C is a
whole food containing no ascorbic acid and the body knows exactly how to
absorb and use it.
In
fact, 3 WSN Vitamin C tablets contain almost as much whole food vitamin
C as a half-gallon of fresh squeezed orange juice!
