Your Body of CoQ10: The depletion of this vital nutrient is due to the statin drugs interfering with the body's natural metabolic pathway. In blocking cholesterol, these drugs block HMG-CoA reductase, and cholesterol production slows down. Unfortunately, this is the exact same pathway where CoQ10 is produced.
