Dairy without the Lactose Problem
If dairy doesn't agree with you, you maybe lactose intolerant. The stunning truth is, whole dairy milk doesn't have to cause you gut problems and you don't have to resort to soy, nut or oat "milk" alternatives which can contain harmful additives like sugar, oils and binding gums.
What is the solution? Ideal for Lactose Intolerant or Cow Milk Protein Allergy and has so many other health benefits.
Will High-Dose Vitamin D Fight COVID-19 [new studies]
Vitamin D has a reputation as a compound that can help bones stay strong. However, research has shown that immune system cells such as macrophages or monocytes rely on vitamin D as well (Reviews in Medical Virology, Jan. 2017). Many people may wonder if high-dose vitamin D could help people resist serious infections like COVID-19.
Can High-Dose Vitamin D Fight Infection?
Q. I have read that high-dose vitamin D did not make a difference when people were admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. Perhaps you should have higher levels of vitamin D circulating in your body when you are first exposed to COVID-19, instead of receiving a massive dose of D after you are already sick and in the hospital. Higher levels of D at the get-go might prevent the inflammation and immune system overreactions that make COVID-19 so serious for some people.
A. You are referring to a Brazilian study (MedRxiv, Nov. 17, 2020). In it, 240 hospitalized COVID-19 patients got either placebo or 200,000 IU of vitamin D in a single giant dose. There was no difference between the groups with respect to hospital stay, intensive care or ventilator use.
Low Vitamin D May Make People More Susceptible to COVID-19:
Other research suggests that people with low vitamin D levels in their bodies may be more vulnerable to COVID-19 (Health Security, Dec. 14, 2020). Vitamin D helps calm inflammation. As a result, some scientists hypothesize that people without enough vitamin D are more likely to suffer deadly cytokine storms if they become infected (Aging Clinical and Experimental Research, Sep. 2, 2020). In other words, they agree with you that people with adequate vitamin D before infection are better off than having sick people take super high-dose vitamin D.

Young & Healthy People Do not Die from CoronoaViruses?
I read an article that said “ Covid-19 has killed too many. Some people believe it is only lethal for old and sick people. Young healthy people can also die from covid-19”
It went on to talk about receiving a great many comments from people who insist that covid-19 is just not that big a deal. They insist that most people recover, especially if they are young and healthy. The article said this was false.
Now “young and healthy” depends upon the definition of what "healthy" is? According to the medical definition, if you don't have a disease, you are healthy. Other definitions tend to revolve around the definition of health which at best is not fully defined and tends to be “feeling good”.
A second definition of healthy is “not displaying clinical signs of disease or infection” In an example it says patients with HIV may be healthy for several years before developing either the cluster of symptoms identified as AIDS or any of the bacterial, viral, fungal or protozoal infections known as AIDS Related Complex
This is odd as according to this definition they would have had the disease even before they had the symptoms, so the person was not healthy.
That is how they define “testing positive” for covid. No symptoms, but testing positive – why? They will tell you the symptoms haven’t shown up yet. So are they really “healthy”? No. You can’t have it both ways.
The article talks about someone dying without co-morbidities (healthy). In medicine, comorbidity is the presence of one or more additional health conditions often occurring with the primary condition being addressed. As in above examples, however, no symptoms doesn’t mean there is no disease.
So many young people are unhealthy due to diet. They are overweight (a symptom of unhealthy, it is not a disease), autoimmune diseases (acne, etc.) may have insulin resistance (pre-diabetes due to high sugar diets), etc. etc.
Just look at what the young people (and older people) eat. Go to the market and check what people put in their carts. How healthy can a person be with that diet?
The bubonic plague or Black Death was the second deadliest diseases to ever grip humanity, second only to smallpox. This infection happened in Europe after the population was forced onto a diet of "grains” because of a famine that came before the plague. The result of this famine was that meat, fruit and vegetables were “luxury items”. Thus it seems they had an unhealthy body from an unhealthy diet and thus were susceptible. One needs a functional immune system to fight any disease.
The diet of young "healthy" people today is not much better – the plentiful grains are often now GMO (as are many vegetables), the diet is high in sugars (or sugar substitutes that are also toxic to the body), it is high in carbs, and there are ingredients listed in processed foods that are not even understandable nor why they would be called “food”. A diet of fast foods, soda, French fries, pizza, etc. is not healthy. The list goes on.
One wonders what “healthy” is on someone with this diet and what underlying conditions they actual do have even if they have “no symptoms.”
The solution, of course, is to eat healthy and build health. Start with a healthy immune system. This is how to fight any infection and neutralize it.

Wearing Masks - Full Time Mask Wearing brings its own set of problems by Lindsey White, Univeristy of Alabama
At this point in the ongoing pandemic era, most know that wearing a cloth covering protects the wearer and the people around them from respiratory droplets that come from talking, coughing or sneezing. However, engaging in improper mask hygiene practices can lead to other health issues far less documented or discussed than COVID-19.
One issue that arises from lax mask washing is breakouts.
“When you are breathing out in a mask, the bacteria from your mouth gets trapped,” Miranda Mellos, a registered nurse in a level 2 trauma center emergency department in Montgomery, said.
Mellos also warned that this bacteria irritates the skin and that “the only way to combat this is to make sure you change your masks out frequently and wash your masks frequently as well.”
Novant Health recommends that maskne – a term coined for breakouts caused by a mask’s hot, humid environment – can also be prevented by avoiding fabric softeners or harsh detergents. A major ingredient in most fabric softeners is quaternary ammonium compounds, which fight against static but have also been found to cause skin and respiratory irritation, according to a study done by the NYU School of Medicine.
If maskne is not enough to make you rethink your attention to mask hygiene, then consider ‘mask mouth’ – whose symptoms can include bad breath, tooth decay and gum inflammation.
Mark Fisher, a dentist practicing in Georgia, said some people tend to breathe through their mouths when they wear masks.
“When you breathe through your mouth, it dries your mouth out,” Fisher said. “Without the humidity from the air, it worsens this condition. Dry mouth leads to bad breath, and it is also linked to tooth decay and inflammation of the gums.”
People who are most at risk are those who wear masks for extended periods of time. Fisher reinforced the need to prevent this condition.
“You need to try not to breathe through your mouth, stay hydrated, [practice] good oral hygiene and do not eat mints or sugary gum,” he said. “The worst way to cope with it is to eat sugary mints and gum. That’s where people will get in trouble because those exacerbate the problem by causing decay around the gum line.”
Candida Overgrowth is another perpetrator that reveals itself by leaving the skin raw, red, irritated, chapped, or rashy according to Everyday Health. Candida Overgrowth is basically a yeast infection on your mouth. This infection cannot solely be caused by wearing a mask, but the conditions a mask provides is perfect for the infection to grow.
There are other, more coronavirus-related reasons why it’s crucial to keep your mask clean. For instance, when wearing a mask, one ought to avoid adjusting it. The Moffitt Cancer Center stresses the importance of taking precautions. “If your mask touches another part of your body that is potentially contaminated with the virus… you are at risk for infection,” according to the center. It’s a simple rule that can go a long way to keeping campus safe, but it may require breaking old habits.
Another basic addition to your mask-wearing routine can be a new increased awareness when removing the mask. The CDC offers some precautionary steps: “Grasp the bottom ties or elastics of the mask, then the ones at the top and remove.” The CDC also advises mask wearers not to touch the front of the cloth covering due to it being directly contaminated. Following these simple steps will keep the virus on the front of your mask and not on your hands.
Keeping your mask clean can be as easy as 1-2-3. CDC encourages people to simply put their masks in with their laundry. Yolanda Enrich, a family nurse practitioner at Novant Health Adult Primary Care Waughtown, in an article published by Novant Health explained that “bacteria can form on moist surfaces and that is why the mask should be washed after each use.” The bacteria referenced by Enrich is the same bacteria that causes maskne.
And build a healthy Immune System as a more direct way to avoid infections.

Nerve Damage - Why R-Alpha Lipoic and Acetyl L-Carnitine
If you have nerve damage, R-Alpha lipoic acid and acetyl L-carnitine are two key supplements that you should add to your daily routine.
Evidence indicates that alpha lipoic acid has an ability to kill free-radicals which may help provide added nutritional support to people who have nerve damage in the arms and legs, such as:
- pain
- burning
- itching
- tingling
- numbness
Alpha lipioc acid comes in two forms. R and S. Alpha lipoic acid is a combination of these two forms. Most supplements have alpha lipoic acid with both forms, not just the R form.
The R form of alpha lipoic acid is the form normally found in the body. Studies indicate the R-alpha lipoic acid form appears to be better absorbed than the combination of R and S alpha lipoic acid.
Additionally, some small preliminary studies suggest acetyl L-carnitine may help provide nutritional support to people with pain and who want to improve feeling in affected nerves. It is also possible that acetyl L-carnitine can help nerves regenerate.
The Nerve & Energy Booster is a nutritional supplement which contains acetyl L-carnitine and R-alpha lipoic acid (the better, more absorbable form of R-alpha lipoic acid).
