Two Trace Minerals Linked to Living to 100 Years Old

Researchers are always interested in what helps people to increase their life expectancy, including what nutrients might help us to get to old age. There was one study done that looked to determine the link between trace minerals and living a healthy, long life

The whole story is now included in this article about Trace Minerals

Is Cancer Being Over Diagnosed? by Doug Kaufman KnowTheCause.com

30 days ago, the medical community would have answered this question with a resounding, “no.” But then came the now famous study (1) that analyzed over 17,000 cancer tissues for the presence of fungus in 35 different types of cancer. Today, the answer to the question of cancer being over diagnosed is, “we just don’t know.”

My guess is that not one of the dozens of researchers working on this study expected to find either fungus or fungal DNA in any of the 35 types of cancer, let alone all of them. But they did find it in all of them. What might account for such a finding? After carefully ruling out moldy samples and false positive results, there can be but one logical response. We are calling it “cancer,” when in fact, it may be “fungus.” If this is accurate, cancer is being grossly over diagnosed.

As the research results were released to the public, dozens of my friends, both physicians and lay alike, forwarded me one of the “press released” summaries of this groundbreaking study. Thank you!

Fifty-thousand of we Americans die of cancer monthly, making it the 2nd leading cause of death. Unfortunately, it will take the medical community decades to comprehend the magnitude of this study.

Therefore, the onus is on you to make a copy of this article and present it to your doctor if you’d like to try and antifungal approach to your “cancer.” It’s actually quite a logical approach given that the FDA has approved “repurposing” the toenail antifungal drug, Sporanox, for cancer treatment.

Common disease-causing fungi make poisons called “mycotoxins” that cause cancer. Both antibiotics and alcohol are mycotoxins so if you have been exposed to large amounts of either, even if in the distant past, let your doctor know this also as it may help him/her in the decision to prescribe antifungal drugs and offer information on an antifungal diet (fungi thrive on carbohydrates).

At this point it is safe to say that fungal mycotoxins are either causing or mimicking cancer. Either way, now you know and can further study this. I use the search engine at pubmed.gov

Uncover A Hidden Threat to Your Health by Dr. Martin, Martinclinic.com

Hey, It's Dr. Martin here…

You may not realize it, but there's an unseen destroyer lurking in the background and it's quietly impacting your health in ways you've never imagined.

If you're having a hard time sleeping — You can't fall asleep or stay asleep or you're waking up exhausted? Then this hidden vandal is the most likely cause.

If your metabolism is frustratingly slow and you have a hard time losing weight or you seem to be gaining weight for no reason whatsoever then you might be feeling the effects of this destroyer.

But insomnia and poor metabolism aren't the only two symptoms caused by this master of disguise. If you're suffering from anxiety, a sluggish thyroid, poor memory, pain, or even bloating then you might be a victim of this unseen bandit.

What is the culprit? Uncontrolled CORTISOL.

Picture cortisol as a double agent — it can be your best friend or your worst enemy. When it's working in your favor cortisol is like a superhero, swooping in to save the day by regulating your blood sugar, maintaining your energy levels, and keeping you focused.

But, when cortisol goes rogue — it becomes the villain. You can't sleep. Your energy is low. You're more anxious. Your brain is foggy. You're bloated. Your thyroid is sluggish, and you're in pain…

All because your cortisol is out of whack. Think of your cortisol like the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park movie.

Everything was great until a tropical storm knocked out the power and security systems, and the dinosaurs were suddenly free to roam and wreak havoc.

Bottom line — you need cortisol but it needs to be controlled.

So, let's talk about how uncontrolled cortisol can cause many symptoms. And let's start with sleep — or the lack of sleep caused by too much cortisol.

Over 70% of people struggle to get a good night's sleep at least once weekly. As mentioned many can't fall or stay asleep (they wake in the middle of the night or way too early in the morning and spend too long trying to get back to sleep). The truth is many struggles with both. And to make matters worse, if they manage to fall asleep, they wake up exhausted.

Well, in my opinion the #1 cause of insomnia in men and women over 40 is TOO MUCH CORTISOL.

How High Cortisol KILLS Your Sleep

When everything in your body is in tune, cortisol follows a natural rhythm. Cortisol rises in the morning (to kickstart your day). It gradually decreases as the day goes on, allowing you to wind down and enjoy a restful night's sleep.

But, things like prolonged stress (or a really stressful event), poor diet, too much sugar, lack of exercise, chemicals, alcohol, toxins, nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, leaky gut syndrome, or medications (I can summarize all of them by saying "living on planet Earth") Can all throw cortisol off-balance and cause cortisol to be HIGH ALL THE TIME.

You should know that when your cortisol levels are high, your blood sugar levels are up, your heart rate is faster (so is your breathing), your mind is racing, and you're restless.

How can you sleep when all that is going on? You can't. That's why uncontrolled cortisol KILLS your sleep.

One of the BEST things you can do to sleep better, fix your metabolism, and drastically reduce or eliminate anxiety when your hormones are bad is to control your cortisol!

Understanding More About Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

September is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Month so it’s a good time to shine the spotlight on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and understand more about this disorder that affects up to 12% of women.

PCOS is now recognized as perhaps the most common of all hormone disorders affecting women.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a hormonal imbalance linked to the way the body processes insulin.

Having PCOS can create:

  • Irregular menstruation (fewer than eight cycles per year)
  • Infertility
  • Excess facial/body hair
  • Elevated male hormone levels
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Obesity
  • Acne
  • Elevated Lipids (Cholesterol and Triglycerides)
  • Heart Disease
  • Endometrial Cancer
  • Adult-onset diabetes.

Scientists at the National Institutes of Health, Stanford University and other research centers have clearly identified the existence and effects of Insulin Resistance as the cause of PCOS.

What is Insulin Resistance?

Your body breaks down foods into a sugar (glucose) which then enters your blood stream. The more sugar and carbohydrates you eat, the higher your blood sugar goes. The higher the blood sugar the more your body produces insulin.

Insulin’s job is to push the blood sugar into the cells.

On the surface of the cells in your body are insulin receptors, which act like little doors that open and close to regulate the inflow of blood sugar.

After many years of consuming a high sugar and high carbohydrate diet, your cells have been bombarded with so much insulin that these doors begin to malfunction and shut down.

With less doors open your body needs to produce even more insulin to push the glucose into the cells. More insulin causes even more doors to close and as this vicious cycle continues, the condition called “insulin resistance“ sets in.

This insulin resistance can get so bad that your body can no longer produce enough insulin to push the blood sugar into the cells. The blood sugar then rises out of control resulting in type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is simply an extreme case of Insulin Resistance.

Why does it cause PCOS?

Insulin Resistance leads to having high insulin levels in the blood. The ovaries seem to be particularly sensitive to this.

The high levels of insulin in the blood stimulate the ovaries to produce large amounts of male hormones which may prevent the ovaries from releasing eggs, thus causing infertility.

This response of over producing male hormones (androgens) causes the PCOS symptoms such as excessive hair growth, male pattern baldness and acne.

This upsets the delicate balance of hormones which has a direct effect on weight gain and the formation of ovarian cysts.

What can you do to manage PCOS?

The best way to manage the symptoms of PCOS is to manage insulin resistance.

Diet and exercise can help you manage insulin resistance naturally.

Diet

A high carbohydrate diet is not the diet that our bodies evolved with. Genetically, our bodies are designed to respond to nutrition from meat, fat and plants. However, one of the reasons humans have been successful in adapting to changing environments is because the human body can also use carbohydrates to survive on an emergency basis.

For about the last 80 years the consumption of simple carbohydrates, sugar, and processed foods in the average diet has skyrocketed. Our bodies have increasingly been using carbohydrates for energy and that has led to increased Insulin Resistance and weight gain.

The best diet to counter Insulin Resistance focuses on gaining nutrition from meats, plants and healthy fats, and reduces the amount of carbohydrates and refined sugar eaten.

Regular Exercise

Exercise will help support your dietary efforts to reduce Insulin Resistance.

Suggested exercise is:

Low-intensity cardio workouts such as walking, cycling, jogging, recreational sports, or swimming. Walking just 30 minutes a day can be beneficial to overall health.

Strength training exercises such as weightlifting (fewer reps with lighter weights).

Nutritional Support

Anyone who has Insulin Resistance will most likely have a nutrient deficiency. The answer to this is to provide the body with the correct type and amounts of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients through nutrient-rich foods and supplementation.

Camel milk may be helpful for PCOS for a couple of reasons:

1. Camel milk is packed with vitamins and minerals and contains high proportions of anti-bacterial and anti-viral substances, antioxidants and immune system boosters. It's considered a superfood because of the wealth of nutrition it provides to the body.

2. Camel milk contains an insulin-like protein that can help with Insulin Resistance and make it easier to manage blood sugar and insulin levels in the body.

If you have PCOS, consider adding camel milk to your diet.

Camelicious camel milk powder can be made into a glass of milk, added to a smoothie or used in cooking and baking to replace other kinds of milk.

Camelicious camel milk powder comes from grass-fed camels and is non-GMO, gluten free, and contains no additives or additional hormones.
