Fake Organic Foods Are Booming, How to Spot the Real Thing
Organic industry watchdog Mark Kastel, discusses how the organic food industry has grown significantly, but challenges remain with labeling integrity. Local, direct-from-farmer organics are generally more reliable than large-scale commercial organics sold in supermarkets
Imported organic products face issues of fraud and regulatory loopholes. "Group certification" allows large agribusinesses to avoid proper inspection, particularly affecting products like hazelnuts from Turkey
Nutritional considerations extend beyond organic certification. Even organic practices may not align with optimal nutrition, as seen in chicken feed choices and the debate between brown and white rice
Consumers can find authentic organic products by buying local, using online resources, checking certifier names, and looking for 100% grass fed and finished meat.

What is a "balanced diet"?
There are many natural remedies for an unhealthy body. But, the real natural method for restoring health is supplying the body with the nutrients it is deficient in and thus giving the body what it needs to be able to repair itself and build health.
The body needs the macronutrients which are protein, fats & carbohydrates. There are also forty nutrients that cannot be made in the body - the essential fatty acids, 15 vitamins, 14 minerals, and 10 amino acids. The macronutrients and the forty nutrients are the body’s requirements. From these our bodies synthesize an estimated 10,000 different compounds essential to the maintenance of good health.
These nutrients must be consumed in the form of food or nutritional supplements. Understanding and eating a healthy diet is the most important thing you can do. The way to really get good health is to eat the foods that the body needs.
Bodies do not work on chemicals such as preservatives and flavor enhancers. They do not work on pesticides or any of the other varied things you can find in processed foods or even in poorly grown or GMO (genetically modified foods) fruits and vegetables. It doesn’t work on chemicals such as drugs, nor does it thrive well with the toxins that are in the environment (found in cleaning solvents, toxic or even the air we breathe).
When toxins or bacteria or viruses are introduced into the body, they should be handled by the immune system. If the body’s immune system cannot fight off these health opponents, you have problems. Again, a compromised immune system results from lack of what the body needs to successfully create a healthy body.
The Underlying Reason
You will notice that all health conditions have some failure of a system or an organ that needs to function properly. What do the individual organs and body use to function and repair? They need protein, fats, and carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids. Where can you get all of these? Food.
“Leave your drugs in the chemist’s pot if you can heal the patient with food.” – Hippocrates, The Father of Western Medicine 460 BC.
The foundation of good health comes from a good healthy diet that will undercut having to constantly fight for your health.
What should you eat?
You’ve no doubt heard that you should eat a "balanced diet". It is usually a vague term that each person can have a different definition for.
A healthy diet is a diet of real food without preservatives, chemicals and is unprocessed. So, if you are looking for gluten-free, go to the produce department. Produce is gluten-free. In anything you buy to eat that comes in a package, read the labels. Make sure nothing is in the food you purchase except food.
Getting a good diet is a matter of working out what you need and getting the list of the foods that supply those nutrients and working your menus around that.
Part of a health program is evaluating and working out what part of your body needs support so you can balance out the body and start on the road to real health.
Yes, we want you to eat for you health, not for your taste buds, but I think you’ll find the amount of energy you get, and, if you are overweight, the amount of weight you will lose will convince you to eat for your health. By the way, overweight is just a symptom of bad health. You don’t lose weight to get healthy you build good health and you will lose weight.
Meanwhile, it won’t hurt to supplement your current diet with good "whole food" or "food-based" vitamins and minerals as you build health with your good diet.
Start with training on what the different aspects of good health is so that you know what to eat with no question about what a “balanced diet” is. Get the basics and then you can build on it.
